Key Responsibilities

  • •Define and drive the strategy and roadmap for Fastly runtimes, including Compute and VCL, and set runtime/interoperability direction.
  • •Own runtime surface convergence and shared primitives to reduce duplicated abstractions and make the platform feel unified.
  • •Enhance Compute as a runtime and platform surface, scaling primitives, limits, reliability, and expected behavior for critical workloads.
  • •Expand the runtime surface by bringing new execution models onto Fastly as native workloads and defining how they run alongside Compute and VCL.
  • •Translate AI-era changes (AI workloads, machine traffic, new execution patterns) into product primitives and controls, and drive alignment on runtime direction.
