Job Summary

Lead engineering decisions that connect partner-built agentic AI systems to Canva’s Ecosystem platform. Partner with engineering and external teams to align on integrations using MCP, REST APIs, and Apps-in-Canva, and validate proposals against Canva’s architecture with working code. Set technical direction across external platform surfaces, drive coherent product-line engineering across MCP/APIs/Apps/middleware PaaS, and shape flagship partner engagements end-to-end.

Key Responsibilities

•Drive decisions and alignment across partners and Canva engineering by translating technical detail without losing precision.
•Set technical direction for Canva’s external platform surface, guiding where to invest, deprecate, and evolve.
•Ground partner conversations in working code by validating against Canva architecture and providing runnable artifacts.
•Drive product-line engineering across MCP, REST APIs, Apps-in-Canva, and middleware PaaS to keep the overall external surface coherent.
•Lead technical relationships for flagship partner and customer engagements, shaping roadmap and driving spikes while carrying decisions back through Canva.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 297,000 - 345,000 annually

•10+ years of software engineering experience, including roles at the seam between partner engineering, platform engineering, and product.
•Built developer platforms with production code shipped for external developers.

•Ability to move between product roadmap, system design, and partner negotiation while advancing decisions.
•Communicates directly and resolves misalignments by writing clearly.
