Job Summary

Build and own security integrations and detections across Datadog’s Security Libraries, focusing on .NET and/or Java. Take features from prototype to production-hardened systems that safely instrument thousands of applications, monitoring telemetry and debugging cross-system issues. Help shape roadmaps via OKRs/RFCs, partner with product, backend, and frontend teams on detections and agentic onboarding, and mentor teammates while representing the team in relevant security communities.

Key Responsibilities

•Design, build, and own security integrations and detections (WAF, RASP/exploit prevention, API Security, IAST, SCA) across multiple libraries with .NET and/or Java as primary focus.
•Take projects from prototype to deployed, correct, operable, and maintainable implementations that safely instrument thousands of applications in production.
•Operate systems in production by monitoring telemetry, debugging cross-system issues, and driving down customer-facing problems.
•Shape technical roadmap through OKRs, breaking features into components for parallel work, and driving RFCs to alignment across security library teams.
•Partner with product management and engineering teams to turn detections, agentic onboarding, and API security ideas into customer-adopted capabilities.

Key Requirements

•Expert in at least one of .NET (C#) or Java, with the ability to contribute idiomatically across other libraries as needed.
•Strong software-engineering fundamentals with the ability to ship modular, maintainable code with little guidance.
•Product-engineering mindset—evaluate technical trade-offs based on customer impact and help decide what to build.
•Experience building and shipping libraries/SDKs with knowledge of packaging, versioning, and backward compatibility.
•BS/MS/PhD in a STEM field or equivalent experience.
