Join the Rio Tinto Maintenance Department as a Millwright Journeyperson in Boron, California. Working under the Maintenance Supervisor, you’ll read blueprints, inspect and test equipment for safe operation, and support training for less-skilled employees—while prioritizing safety and operating efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

•Coordinate millwright work with overall plant operations.
•Perform rigging tasks using power and hand equipment, often at heights with safety equipment.
•Diagnose and repair industrial equipment including pumps, elevators, screw conveyors, belting, material handling, crushers, centrifuges, and dryers.
•Fabricate, install, or repair equipment using oxy-acetylene or arc welding; perform multiple welding positions on plate, structural steel, pipes, and machinery.
•Install, repair, clean, and replace industrial and domestic piping systems (including refrigeration, steam, air, water, ammonia, acid process, and sewer lines).

Key Requirements

•Commitment to the safety of yourself and your team.
•1–2 years’ experience in metal fabrication, arc welding, and oxygen/acetylene welding.

•To qualify for Millwright First Class: Journeyman Craftsman and a minimum of four years relevant experience.
•High School Diploma or GED; valid State Driver’s License.
