Job Summary

Build and deliver a new Aerospace & Defense Center of Excellence focused on cost transparency, manufacturability, producibility, and design-to-value. Analyze component and supplier inputs to create should-cost models, assess manufacturing cost from technical data, identify cost drivers and outliers, and recommend design and sourcing actions to reduce cost and improve production readiness. Partner with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and commercial stakeholders to develop reusable methods and playbooks for the COE.

Key Responsibilities

•Develop should-cost models for complex components, assemblies, systems, and supplier quotes.
•Assess manufacturing cost using technical inputs such as drawings, specifications, bills of material, routing assumptions, labor, cycle time, yields, tooling, quality requirements, overhead, and supplier economics.
•Identify supplier and design cost drivers, manufacturing complexity factors, cost outliers, margin opportunities, and negotiation levers.
•Evaluate design choices for cost, manufacturability, producibility, scalability, qualification risk, and supplier feasibility.
•Translate technical analysis into actionable recommendations and help codify reusable COE tools, benchmarks, cost models, playbooks, and analytical methods.

Key Requirements

•U.S. citizenship with the ability to support ITAR or restricted Aerospace & Defense work.
•5+ years of experience in engineering, manufacturing engineering, cost engineering, supplier engineering, operations, product engineering, design engineering, systems engineering, producibility, DFM, DTV, or value engineering.
•Experience from aerospace, defense, space, propulsion, naval, electronics, nuclear, automotive, industrial equipment, complex mechanical systems, or advanced manufacturing.
•Strong understanding of manufacturing processes including machining, casting, forging, welding, fabrication, composites, additive manufacturing, electronics assembly, final assembly, testing, tooling, inspection, and quality.
•Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical inputs (GD&T, tolerances, specifications, CAD outputs, bills of material, manufacturing routings).
