Key Responsibilities

  • •Support senior and lead mechanical engineers with mechanical design for wastewater and water infrastructure/treatment projects, including pumping calculations, specifications, and system schematics.
  • •Produce equipment and drive schedules, and develop engineering specification documents related to hydraulics and pump systems.
  • •Assist with project delivery by working with clients on asset and network performance and design; provide timely reporting to clients and internal team leads.
  • •Create lifting, access and maintenance plans and liaise with internal/external design teams, clients, and contractors as needed.
  • •Collaborate with civil, mechanical, electrical, and process engineers, and help apply digital solutions (e.g., BIM, ProjectWise, intelligent P&IDs) to improve design quality and consistency.

Key Requirements

  • •MEng in Mechanical Engineering (2:1 or above, or equivalent) would be preferred.
  • •Relevant work experience would be an advantage.
  • •Basic computer skills essential (Word/Excel) and good report writing skills.
  • •Willing and able to work towards professional qualifications such as Chartered or Incorporated Engineer with the relevant institution (e.g., IMechE).
  • •Demonstrable interest in water projects and ability to structure and prioritise work effectively with the team.
