Job Summary

Own PostgreSQL and MongoDB operations in public cloud environments, with a focus on GCP. Install, configure, tune, and troubleshoot databases; optimize SQL queries; set up monitoring and alerts; and perform automated backups, restores, migrations, and upgrades. Design and implement backup/recovery and disaster recovery plans across AWS RDS, Azure SQL, and GCP Cloud SQL, providing 24x7 L1/L2 shift support and writing runbooks and best-practice documentation.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide L1/L2 24x7 support for PostgreSQL/MongoDB databases in a production support model.
•Install, configure, tune, and troubleshoot PostgreSQL/MongoDB performance, including optimizing SQL queries and resolving performance bottlenecks.
•Set up and manage monitoring tools and alerts based on database performance metrics across GCP/AWS/Azure.
•Implement backup/recovery and disaster recovery plans, including backups, restores, migrations, upgrades, and maintenance activities.
•Support operational documentation by updating KB articles, problem management materials, and SOPs/runbooks; share domain expertise and mentor peers.

Key Requirements

•2+ years of GCP experience as a cloud DBA (PostgreSQL/MongoDB) and 3+ years of overall operational experience.
•Hands-on PostgreSQL/MongoDB work including installation, configuration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
•Experience managing PostgreSQL on AWS RDS, Azure, and GCP (including automated backups, maintenance, and scaling).
•Ability to analyze and optimize complex SQL queries and identify performance bottlenecks.
•24x7 production support experience at L1/L2 level, with strong documentation skills (KB, problem management, SOPs/runbooks).
