Key Responsibilities

  • •Attend a 3-week training program and complete 4-8 weeks of on-the-job training to become a certified operator.
  • •Set up and operate NC milling/grinding machines, vertical turret lathes, or VTCs for weekend shift production operations.
  • •Work from operation sheets, part travelers, BOROPS, and oral instruction to set up equipment for machining operations.
  • •Verify conformance of finished work to specifications using precision measuring instruments and obtain operator certification to accept/reject parts.
  • •Maintain machines by performing required total preventive maintenance (TPM) and collaborate with engineers, quality assurance, programmers, and other production personnel to resolve machining problems and assist with part process development.
