Job Summary

Own, enhance, and govern the quality and coverage of Kpler’s dirty petroleum products (DPP) data across key regions and flows. Lead data investigations, validate large datasets, and collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Commercial teams while mentoring junior analysts to improve data accuracy and product value.

Key Responsibilities

•Own end-to-end data quality and coverage for assigned DPP markets, flows, and geographies.
•Lead complex data investigations, identify root causes of discrepancies, and implement structural fixes.
•Perform and oversee large-scale data validation, ingestion, and backtesting against external benchmarks.
•Act as a Data Ops focal point for DPP, working closely with Data Scraping, Product, and Engineering teams.
•Proactively identify gaps in data coverage and drive initiatives to improve granularity and accuracy.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Engineering, Energy, Data Science, or related field.
•Circa 5–8 years of experience in oil markets, with strong Crude or refined oil products exposure.
•Strong understanding of global trade flows, shipping, and refinery dynamics.
•Proven experience working with large, complex datasets and driving data quality improvements.
•Advanced data handling skills - Excel (Advanced), SQL (Intermediate), Python (Basic to intermediate)
