Key Responsibilities

  • •Assist in the installation and qualification of manufacturing equipment and troubleshoot day-to-day production equipment issues.
  • •Analyze daily tool performance data and proactively schedule needed repairs or rebuilds based on performance trending.
  • •Maintain and manage deposition process equipment operations, calibration, and preventative maintenance, including documentation updates and work instruction development.
  • •Coordinate downtime requests, work orders, warranty, and upgrade activities with facilities, operations, and vendors; plan and execute approved engineering changes.
  • •Manage distributor inventory and allocation for production and test components, including identifying deviations and root causes of distributor malfunctions.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma or equivalent with 1 year of First Solar Manufacturing Engineering Technician I experience, or 3 years of First Solar technical experience, or 10 years of technical experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • •Associate’s degree in a technical discipline with at least 1 year as First Solar Manufacturing Engineering Technician I, or 2 years of First Solar Technical Experience, or at least 3 years of technical experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • •Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline with 0-2 years of technical experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • •Strong safety mindset and ability to self-direct with minimal supervision, leading project assignments as needed.
  • •Fluency with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to read equipment schematics and interpret mechanical drawings.
