Key Responsibilities

  • •Establish and maintain an enterprise Major Hazard Risk Management Framework and ensure major hazard risks are systematically identified, controlled, verified, and reported to executive management and the board.
  • •Define, implement, and oversee critical controls for molten metal handling, potline integrity/high-voltage electrical systems, gas systems, pressure systems, and confined space/high-risk activities.
  • •Lead SIF and High Potential (HiPo) prevention by building frameworks for event definitions, escalation thresholds, barrier health monitoring, and committee review of worst-case outcomes and corrective actions.
  • •Provide governance for engineering and asset integrity, including mechanical integrity, electrical integrity/arc-flash risk controls, safe design reviews, and embed process safety requirements into capital projects and upgrades.
  • •Integrate advanced technologies (AI predictive analytics, real-time parameter monitoring, smart sensors, digital barrier management, automated shutdowns/interlocks) and provide quarterly board-level reporting on Tier 1/2 events and critical indicators.

Key Requirements

  • •Hold an engineering degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Process engineering.
  • •Have 15+ years in high-hazard industrial operations.
  • •Deep expertise in HAZOP, LOPA, and Bowtie, critical control management, and major accident prevention.
  • •Experience engaging regulators and board committees around process safety and major hazard risk.
  • •Demonstrate strong digital and data analytics literacy for process safety performance and reporting.
