Job Summary

Build and develop the software stack for Cisco Silicon One network processors, working with the Open Standards community and customers to deliver next-generation routing and switching. Partner with architecture, application, and design teams to define ASIC product requirements, write clean code and unit tests, and troubleshoot embedded software through development and production. Collaborate across hardware and multi-functional teams and contribute to the end-to-end SDLC from requirements to deployment.

Key Responsibilities

•Design and develop software for Silicon One network processors and sophisticated infrastructure using C++ and Python.
•Work with hardware engineers, architects, and multi-functional teams to define software requirements and ensure integration with hardware components.
•Conduct unit testing, debugging, and troubleshooting of embedded software using tools and methodologies.
•Collaborate across the full software creation process, from requirement gathering through production deployment.
•Maintain production support as needed, including troubleshooting complex production issues and performing code reviews and postmortems/root cause analysis when required.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 126,500 - 182,000

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, computer science, or related field with 5+ years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with 3+ years of relevant experience (or equivalent PhD years as stated).
•Experience programming in C++.
•Experience with the full software creation process (SDLC): requirement gathering, design, implementation, testing, debugging, and production.
•Experience with Open Standard Network Operating Systems and APIs (e.g., Silicon SDK development, SONiC, FBOSS, SAI).
•Preferred: experience writing Python scripts and/or working on AI/ML applications or infrastructure solutions.
