Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide engineering services for AJISS support of AOPV and JSS homeported in Halifax, including surveys and technical investigations.
  • •Investigate structural, equipment, or system malfunctions (including failure analysis) and develop solution development plans.
  • •Create documented work scopes and technical job instructions for corrective maintenance and defect resolution to support quotes from external resources.
  • •Plan, organize, lead, and control delegated work by coordinating with Thales Mechanical, Electrical, C4, and Naval Architecture staff and/or subcontractors.
  • •Support engineering tasks including requirements analysis, design calculations, obsolescence assessments, and maintenance documentation reviews.

Key Requirements

  • •Engineering degree in naval architecture.
  • •Minimum of 4 years maritime experience in ship repair, ship building, or ship operational experience.
  • •Strong technical knowledge with ability to make technical decisions.
  • •Eligibility for P Eng designation in Nova Scotia.
  • •Able to access technical information controlled under export control and be eligible to obtain authorization, including Canadian NATO Secret clearance.
