Key Responsibilities

  • •Deliver high-quality legal advice on commercial, procurement, and transactional matters across Ocado Group (UK and internationally), mentoring junior team members.
  • •Draft, negotiate, and provide expert advice on technology and hardware procurement arrangements, IT procurement (cloud service providers, SaaS and IT licences), and related agreements.
  • •Advise on IP matters (collaboration agreements, licensing and cross-licensing) and data protection matters (data protection agreements and advice).
  • •Support drafting and negotiation of Ocado Solution Platform customer contracts, and help on construction, engineering, and product delivery arrangements.
  • •Lead commercial legal aspects of key projects (including corporate and capital markets transactions), manage external counsel, and provide training/legal updates to the business.

Key Requirements

  • •Qualified solicitor or barrister with specialism in commercial contracts/transactions with 4+ years PQE (or equivalent ability to perform).
  • •Experience advising on commercial and technology transactions, including technology and hardware procurement arrangements.
  • •In-depth experience drafting, negotiating, and advising on domestic and cross-border commercial contracts for technology investments, engineering and IT procurement, and licensing (including SaaS subscription agreements and logistics/distribution agreements).
  • •Experience working with senior management, operating with broad latitude in complex environments.
  • •Strong academic qualifications and ideally experience training with a leading law firm or in-house team focused on commercial and technology transactions.
