Job Summary

Lead and grow a planning consents service within a market-leading infrastructure planning team. Manage and mentor junior staff, lead major development applications through the Development Consent Order (DCO) process, and provide strategic planning advice to clients and internal teams. Coordinate multi-disciplinary delivery to meet budget and programme timelines, oversee quality and health & safety principles, and support business development including client relationship building and commercial tender preparation.

Key Responsibilities

•Manage and grow the planning consents service, including line management and mentorship for junior team members.
•Lead major development applications, including the Development Consent Order (DCO) process.
•Provide strategic planning advice to clients and internal teams.
•Ensure projects are delivered on budget and within programme timelines, coordinating multi-disciplinary teams.
•Oversee deliverables, and implement and uphold quality assurance and health and safety principles, plus contribute to business development and commercial tenders.

Key Requirements

•Significant relevant experience leading applications for planning consent for large infrastructure projects across consenting regimes.
•Proven experience in planning consents and project management.
•Client-focused with strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative working approach.
•Existing relationships with clients and local authorities.
•Degree in Town Planning (or related discipline) and membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) or equivalent professional body.
