Key Responsibilities

  • •Weigh and grade incoming ferrous and/or non-ferrous scrap loads and identify contents of each load.
  • •Operate inbound and outbound scales, compute ticket totals for payment, and direct customers to appropriate unloading areas.
  • •Assist customers with questions on pricing and types of material accepted while maintaining account contacts.
  • •Coordinate with office personnel to ensure accurate and timely documentation of purchasing transactions.
  • •Test scale accuracy, report equipment malfunctions, and support internal control compliance and issue escalation.

Key Requirements

  • •Knowledge of metals identification and grading according to ISRI specifications.
  • •Ability to work in dusty/dirty conditions and around noise, wearing required PPE (steel-toed boots; other PPE provided).
  • •Ability to perform physical activities including lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds occasionally and walking on uneven ground.
  • •Experience working in a high-traffic, safety-conscious environment.
