Job Summary

Deliver biodiversity net gain (BNG) assessments for infrastructure and development projects across the UK, producing and technically reviewing biodiversity reports from feasibility through design stages. Collaborate with the UK&I BNG lead to develop the BNG vision, support consultation with planning authorities and stakeholders, and help upskill ecologists. Lead bid and tender production for ecological and BNG services, mentor junior staff, and work with digital/data teams to enhance biodiversity tools.

Key Responsibilities

•Deliver ecological BNG inputs for internal and external clients.
•Produce and technically review biodiversity assessments, including BNG feasibility and design stage reports and NBB assessments.
•Support consultation and engagement with clients and key stakeholders, including planning authorities, statutory bodies, and the public.
•Lead production of bids and tenders for ecological and BNG services.
•Mentor and support junior staff and peers, and contribute to upskilling ecologists across the business.

Key Requirements

•Degree (or equivalent) in ecology or an associated subject, and a membership of an appropriate professional institution.
•Experience leading BNG assessments on large-scale infrastructure projects.
•Excellent knowledge of relevant legislation and policy.
•Experience interpreting UKHabs data and Habitat Condition Assessments.
•Experience reviewing technical work, supporting wider team members, and bidding/tendering.
