Job Summary

Develop Layer1 control software that powers physical connectivity, from 1GBASE-T connectors to long-reach optics. Build instrumentation and telemetry to track link health, collaborate with Optics and hardware teams to define interfaces and bring components to market, and work with customers/support to troubleshoot network issues. Lead feature design and delivery end-to-end, create automated tests, and mentor junior engineers in Arista’s software development environment.

•Interface with customers, product management, and hardware engineers to define and deliver new Layer1 features.
•Architect, design, and manage development of Layer1 features, owning projects from definition through deployment.
•Develop and maintain features in C, C++, and Python, including building automated tests and test infrastructure.
•Collaborate with hardware and manufacturing teams to bring new Layer1 components to market and design optimal control interfaces.
•Analyze and fix issues in customer networks with Customer Support, work with System Test Engineers on test failures, and mentor new/junior engineers.

•Ability to design solutions and implement features independently, and work effectively in small teams.
