Key Responsibilities

  • •Assign and supervise operations staff by directing, coordinating, updating, and documenting day-to-day barge and mill services.
  • •Direct daily work assignments on dock and mill services, including prioritizing and planning daily tasks.
  • •Assist the Superintendent with controlling overtime, working within budget, and developing realistic action plans.
  • •Promote and enforce a safe work environment through safety training and implementation of regulations and corporate policy.
  • •Train and coach employees; verify training on assigned equipment, terminal safety requirements, and operating policies and procedures.

Key Requirements

  • •Direct supervisory experience.
  • •Bachelor’s degree with 1-3 years of industry-related supervisory experience, or a high school diploma with 3+ years of industry-related direct supervisory experience.
  • •Excellent verbal and written communication skills for internal and external small-group situations.
  • •Ability to identify problems by gathering and analyzing information and resolving issues with alternative solutions.
  • •Must be available for any shift in a 24/7 operation and be able to work outdoors in extreme weather; must communicate via two-way radio and/or the company communication system.
