Location: United Kingdom
Workplace: Remote
Employment Type: Full time
Job Function: Solutions Engineering & Sales Engineering
Seniority: Mid level

Key Responsibilities

  • •Adjudicate identifications that automated detection cannot resolve, attaching verified vessel identities with explicit confidence and sourced evidence.
  • •Investigate identity manipulation and evasion, including AIS gaps, GNSS/spoofing, duplicated/borrowed MMSI, name/flag changes, and vessel substitution.
  • •Apply OSINT tradecraft to interpret imagery and cross-check vessel/ownership records across registries and open reporting sources.
  • •Reconstruct ownership and pattern-of-life to turn single detections into explained vessel histories.
  • •Produce structured identification records with disciplined, defensible reporting and feed ground truth to the data science team for model improvement.

Key Requirements

  • •3+ years in intelligence, investigations, maritime analysis, or related OSINT research with evidence-to-conclusion experience.
  • •Working knowledge of the maritime domain, including vessel types, AIS, registries, flag/ownership structures, and shipping operations.
  • •Genuine OSINT tradecraft: source discovery and evaluation, cross-referencing independent sources, and handling uncertainty/provenance.
  • •Confidence interpreting imagery (satellite, optical, and ideally SAR) to reason about detections.
  • •Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in international relations, security/intelligence, maritime studies, geography, data, or equivalent professional experience.
