Job Summary

Seasoned Engineering Manager to lead the Use & Accounts team in India, driving strategy and delivery for core account management features (Teams, Organizations, Projects, tags) and the customer console experience. You’ll own scalable cloud-native systems, mentor senior engineers, coordinate with Product/Design, and ensure reliability, security, and performance while growing the India engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

•Define and drive the technical strategy and roadmap for core Account Management primitives (Teams, Organizations, Projects, and resource Tags).
•Own the development and delivery of features that enhance the customer console experience, including in-console notifications and advanced reporting dashboards.
•Establish and lead sustaining engineering practices, including prioritizing technical debt reduction, resolving aging tickets, and ensuring security rule/feature coverage.
•Collaborate with Product Management, Design, and other cross-functional teams to align the Accounts roadmap with DigitalOcean’s strategic goals.
•Ensure operational excellence, system stability, and performance for all user account-managing systems; manage recruitment, performance reviews, and career development for the India team.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
•10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 4+ years in a senior leadership or management role.
•Proven track record of delivering complex cloud-scale distributed systems, particularly in user account management or customer experience.
•Expert-level Go and strong JavaScript/Node.js skills.
•Cloud platform experience (AWS, GCP, Azure) with understanding of cloud security models and infrastructure as code (Terraform, Helm, Chef).
