Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead lipid-driven ingredient technology initiatives by framing hypotheses, failure modes, and translating mechanistic understanding into formulation and process options.
  • •Identify and prioritize ingredient technology platforms across the portfolio using literature review and structured scoping, focusing on fats/oils functionality, emulsion performance, and oxidative stability.
  • •Design and execute experimental plans (including stability and accelerated shelf-life), analyze results, and develop recommendations while distinguishing physical vs chemical instability.
  • •Apply ingredient science to evaluate interactions and performance in complex food systems, emphasizing interfaces, fat-protein interactions, and salt/water effects.
  • •Lead cross-functional workstreams and external research collaborations, and define scalable bench-to-commercial application pathways.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s in Food Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Dairy Science, Food Chemistry, or related fields (Master’s or PhD preferred).
  • •Minimum experience: 6 years (BS), 5 years (MS), or 4 years (PhD).
  • •Strong ingredient science background in lipid-containing systems, with ability to diagnose and improve fat-driven performance and shelf life.
  • •Experience leading experiments at bench and pilot scale, including plant trials (preferred).
  • •Knowledge of lipid chemistry and degradation pathways (e.g., oxidation) and ability to navigate relevant cleaner-label programs and regulatory requirements.
