Key Responsibilities

  • •Manage a broad range of litigation matters, including IP (particularly copyright), class actions, regulatory/commercial disputes, and securities cases.
  • •Direct outside counsel across all litigation stages, focusing on strategic decisions and excellent legal briefing.
  • •Manage small disputes and escalations to minimize business friction and risk.
  • •Advise leadership and cross-functional partners on litigation risk and develop strategic litigation plans and matter-resolution proposals.
  • •Design and implement processes, policies, and tools to scale litigation operations, including matter intake and outside counsel budgeting, and support regulatory responses as needed.

Key Requirements

  • •Hold a JD and be an active member of at least one U.S. state bar (California preferred).
  • •Have litigated some combination of copyright, class action, securities, and regulatory matters.
  • •Have broad experience handling complex civil litigation, including discovery and federal and/or CA state court rules.
  • •Have managed litigation matters independently, including setting strategy, managing discovery, writing/improving legal briefs, and directing outside counsel.
  • •Communicate clearly to explain litigation risk and strategy to non-legal audiences at all levels.
