Job Summary

Lead a team within the Knowledge Platform to scale Airwallex’s data foundations across regulatory reporting, data content, customer/business data, and growth analytics. Drive technical direction for data modeling and ETL pipelines (batch and streaming), enforce data governance and Single Source of Truth, and partner with product and engineering leaders to deliver reliable, analytics-ready datasets. Shape how data and AI work together to support real-time, agent-ready infrastructure.

•Hire, coach, and grow a team of data engineers, setting expectations, delivering feedback, and supporting career development.
•Set the technical direction for data modeling (e.g., star schema, snowflake) and drive Single Source of Truth across data layers and pipelines.
•Guide batch and streaming ETL pipeline development from ingestion through transformation and delivery, ensuring durable fixes for data issues.
•Own and evolve data governance strategy, policies, and standards across data quality, stewardship, metadata management, master data management, privacy/security, and lifecycle.
•Drive thinking on how data engineering and AI work together, building foundations for practical, high-impact AI use cases.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 200,000 - 335,000 annually

Key Requirements

•Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, Mathematics, or a related field.
•8+ years designing and implementing ETL pipelines using Informatica, Talend, Apache NiFi, or similar integration platforms with hands-on technical depth.
•2+ years managing or leading data engineers, including hiring, coaching, and performance management.
•Proficiency in SQL, database systems (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle), and data warehousing solutions.
•Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including BigQuery and Airflow.
