Key Requirements

  • •High School Diploma.
  • •0–2 years of road and bridge construction inspection and testing experience (or an equivalent education/training/experience combination); Engineering Interns (EI) may be eligible without experience.
  • •Ability to attain required NCDOT certifications within 90 days +/- (as scheduling allows), including concrete field technician, conventional density, Level II erosion & sediment control/storm water, QMS roadway technician, and ABC/borrow pit sampling.
  • •Ability to keep accurate records, compute field data, and read/interpret construction plans.
  • •Ability to perform physical activities required for testing and inspection (e.g., squatting, bending, lifting, climbing, traversing difficult terrain).
