  • •Lead a team of data scientists and analytics engineers embedded in Finance, setting the technical bar and priorities.
  • •Own metric governance and the single source of truth for Canva’s top-line performance metrics for operational finance and investor reporting.
  • •Own data models, pipelines, and metric definitions that power FP&A forecasting and planning, including feeds into Anaplan and board-level reporting.
  • •Partner with Accounting, Tax, and Investor Relations to improve data quality and make financial reporting faster, more automated, and less manual.
  • •Lead the evolution of Finance’s data architecture (modeling standards, layer design, and orchestration patterns) in dbt and Snowflake, driving AI/automation readiness.

  • •Comfortable writing code or building models yourself, and explaining the story behind the numbers to a CFO.
  • •Set a high technical bar while staying genuinely curious about the business problem underneath the data.
  • •Strong communicator able to balance technical depth with presenting to senior leadership and working with engineering teams.
