Key Responsibilities

  • •Maintain and modify HSM drives and automation hardware/software to ensure safe, timely system performance.
  • •Ensure system availability through ongoing maintenance of LV/MV drives, PLCs, HMIs, and CNC machines.
  • •Manage Level 1 software backup and historical data backup, including database security and regular backups.
  • •Adapt Level 1 software interfaces to meet Level 2 requirements and create/maintain databases for Level 2.
  • •Review electrical and production reports, prepare daily and weekly management reports, and provide technical input to minimize line down time while improving service to internal customers.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation Engineering.
  • •In excess of 8-10 years’ electrical automation experience in HSM for degree engineers, or 15+ years for diploma engineers, including 3 years as a Level 1 Automation engineer in a rolling mill focused on drives and PLCs.
  • •In-depth knowledge of Level 1 automation systems for the HSM process, including LV and MV drives, motors, PLCs, and CNC machines.
  • •Fully conversant with tuning, parameterization, and maintenance of Siemens/ABB LV and MV drives.
  • •Fully conversant with Siemens S7 programming and debugging, and experience using a CMMS (preferably SAP).
