Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform system, functional, and regression testing; create and execute test cases and support SIT/UAT end-to-end.
  • •Create, run, and execute mainframe JCLs, validate job status in spool, and resolve JCL errors and related issues.
  • •Analyze and develop COBOL/DB2 code when required and debug/resolve abends using mainframe debugging tools.
  • •Track and monitor defects/stories to closure and produce test metrics and test reports using tools such as GitHub/Jenkins and automation tooling.
  • •Lead day-to-day testing activities: estimate tests, create/assist test strategy and plans, provide daily status updates, and guide associates on mainframe and functional skills.

Key Requirements

  • •5+ years of mainframe development and testing experience and strong SME capability in mainframe testing (z/Series) including JCL, DB2, COBOL, and CICS.
  • •Hands-on knowledge of OpenText Exstream (16.6.7/23.2) on Windows and Linux, and ability to work independently on OT Exstream and mainframe projects.
  • •Ability to create, run, and execute JCLs, validate job status in spool, troubleshoot and resolve JCL errors, and write complex SQL queries post execution.
  • •Strong understanding of testing methodologies (waterfall, Scrum, Agile) and experience supporting end-to-end SIT/UAT, test monitoring, and defect/story tracking to closure.
  • •Experience with test tools and reporting (e.g., TOSCA, ALM JIRA, GitHub/Jenkins, and creating reports in JIRA/SharePoint/Confluence).
