•Review, prepare and negotiate contracts and subcontracts for construction projects.
•Identify risks and provide legal advice including risk assessments and approvals to proceed with projects or pursuits.
•Counsel on collateral matters arising from business transactions and assist with related negotiations.
•Partner with commercial and operations teams to protect company interests and minimize risk of loss or liability.
•Manage external counsel in litigation and oversee contract-related disputes as needed.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 240,000 - 280,000 annually

Key Requirements

•Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school with at least 10 years of experience as a practicing attorney supporting construction projects, including drafting and negotiating agreements or handling claims and litigation; demonstrated equivalency may apply
•New York bar admission
•Bachelor’s degree plus at least 12 years of relevant construction legal experience, including at least 4 years of leadership experience
•Ability to work independently while functioning well in a team environment
•Preferred: 10+ years of legal building construction experience; experience with larger General Contractors in vertical construction; project experience including high-rise residential or hospitality
