Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead an organization of 45–50 embedded software engineers through engineering managers and technical leaders, owning hiring, onboarding, coaching, performance management, and retention.
  • •Drive delivery and execution, including on-time delivery, release predictability, software quality, defect triage, field issue resolution, and customer escalations.
  • •Ensure engineering rigor for safety-critical and regulated products, including functional safety and cybersecurity compliance, and establish technical governance via architecture governance and code reviews.
  • •Own Agile and Scrum practices, milestone planning, risk management, and cross-team dependency management to maintain an effective operating rhythm.
  • •Own multiple product lines (emergency lighting, fire safety, intrusion, UPS systems) from concept to sustaining and partner with product management, global engineering leaders, quality, supply chain, and customers.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical, Computer Science or related engineering discipline.
  • •15 to 18 years of design experience in embedded systems software, including embedded Linux and RTOS.
  • •Organizational leadership experience for 5–10 years and leading organizations of at least 40 people in globally distributed teams.
  • •Experience with software engineering best practices and Agile development methodologies, including CI/CD and DevOps.
  • •Embedded systems experience with RTOS and Linux-based platforms (e.g., FreeRTOS, Zephyr, Linux, Yocto, EdgeX) and familiarity with software estimation and fieldbus protocols for industrial IoT.
