Job Summary

Play a hands-on technical lead role in intelligence-led cyber defence, turning threat intelligence into actionable detections across IT and OT environments. You’ll improve visibility and detection coverage across Cyber Operations, MSSP SOC, OT Engineering, Architecture, and Corporate Security, validate control effectiveness via purple teaming and adversary emulation, and support incident response using threat-led attack insights. This role also supports a 24/7 cyber defence capability and occasional out-of-hours work.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead intelligence-led cyber defence by turning threat intelligence into actionable detections.
•Improve visibility and detection coverage across IT and OT environments in collaboration with Cyber Operations, MSSP SOC teams, OT Engineering, Architecture, and Corporate Security.
•Validate security control performance using adversary emulation, purple team exercises, and continuous testing to find weaknesses and detection gaps.
•Support incident response activities using threat intelligence and attack insights to strengthen investigations and response readiness.
•Drive improvements across the detection and response lifecycle, including threat-led testing and recommendations for resilience.

Travel: Low travel

Salary: GBP 59,000 - 74,000 annually

Key Requirements

•Experience in cyber threat intelligence, detection engineering, cyber defence, vulnerability management, incident response, or threat-led testing.
•Strong understanding of attacker tactics and techniques and how to apply them to defenses.
•Experience working with SIEM and SOAR technologies.
•Working knowledge of the MITRE ATT&CK framework across Enterprise and ICS environments.
•Exposure to OT/ICS security and standards such as IEC 62443 is beneficial.
