Job Summary

Build and run large-scale data pipelines, data marts, and warehouse frameworks for Visa’s AP region data platforms. Partner with the global data engineering team to adopt standards, develop reusable packages for data scientists, and support new data science tools across on-prem and cloud environments. Improve scalability and infrastructure efficiency by tuning queries, analyzing logs, and identifying performance bottlenecks, while also creating training assets for users.

Key Responsibilities

•Create and maintain data pipelines, data marts, and architectures aligned to Visa’s global technology stack.
•Collaborate with the global data engineering team to adopt engineering standards for the AP region.
•Develop custom packages to support data scientists across the region.
•Provide technical and business support for new platforms and data science tools using on-prem and cloud technologies.
•Continuously improve scalability and infrastructure efficiency by tuning settings, translating queries if required, and analyzing query logs; review scripts and create training assets.

Key Requirements

•5+ years of data engineering experience and a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information science, mathematics, or related fields (master’s degree a plus).
•Hands-on experience with distributed data architecture, API development, commonly used BI tools, and machine-learning-related approaches/packages.
•Strong knowledge of Hadoop architecture and components including HDFS, YARN, and MapReduce.
•Solid understanding of SQL and experience working with various database systems.
•Production software/system development in Python and/or Scala, with a proven track record of resolving performance bottlenecks.
