Job Summary

Own the technical backbone of manufacturing test for the Dive-XL program, including production consoles, automation frameworks, and tester integrations. Design and build GUI-based test tooling, test-runner architecture, instrumentation drivers, logging/traceability, and configuration-managed CI/CD for test code. Integrate results with factory systems (MES, Oracle ERP, Teamcenter PLM where needed) and provide hands-on floor support when tests fail or GUIs encounter unexpected errors.

Key Responsibilities

•Design and build a production utility suite for manufacturing test, including GUI-based consoles for PCBA bring-up/bottle bring-up and vehicle-level Factory Acceptance Test and system check-out.
•Architect the shared test framework substrate (test runners, instrumentation drivers, data logging, traceability hooks, error-code library, and configuration management).
•Standardize and deploy a NixOS-based, declarative, reproducible toolchain and drive consolidation from mixed development environments to a config-managed target.
•Implement CI/CD for test code (pipelines, version control, review discipline) so test software ships through pipelines rather than external media.
•Integrate test results with factory systems (MES, Oracle ERP, and relevant PLM such as Teamcenter) and provide floor support by debugging unexpected GUI/test failures.

Key Requirements

•Engineering fundamentals with a degree in Software, Computer, Electrical, Mechatronic, or related engineering (or equivalent experience), including the ability to read a schematic and reason about what test code exercises.
•Strong test automation software fluency, with Python-first experience building, maintaining, and debugging test frameworks suitable for real teams to read and ship.
•Linux and command-line proficiency (including Bash), comfortable with system configuration, process management, and network debugging.
•Hardware-software interface experience driving test instruments and hardware-under-test via real interfaces such as USB, Ethernet, RS232/RS485, CAN, I2C, SPI, or GPIB (or equivalent).
•Hands-on electronics troubleshooting and GUI development experience for operator-facing test consoles (plus eligibility to obtain and maintain an Australian Government NV2 Security Clearance as an Australian citizen).
