Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform thermal, mechanical, and structural analyses to size, lay out, and optimize reactor structural components, including core restraint, control drum mounting, and PHX vessel supports.
  • •Define system architecture, operating limits, design margins, and concepts of operation (CONOPS) to ensure reliable performance across operating conditions.
  • •Develop engineering documentation such as calculations, specifications, interface definitions, design reports, and technical justifications for design reviews, verification, and licensing.
  • •Lead component- and system-level testing by developing test articles, test fixtures, instrumentation plans, and validation procedures to demonstrate performance and life-cycle reliability.
  • •Collaborate with reactor, thermal, manufacturing, licensing, and procurement teams to integrate structural systems, support supplier selection and evaluations, and resolve manufacturing, assembly, and installation issues.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 140,000 - 185,000 annually

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • •5+ years designing, analyzing, and developing structural systems for demanding engineering applications.
  • •Experience in structural design, including hand calculations, material selection, and bolted/welded joint design with load path development and thermo-mechanical trade studies.
  • •Experience using finite element analysis (FEA) tools to evaluate structural performance under stress, deformation, fatigue, and thermal loading.
  • •Knowledge of structural design principles, materials, bolted and welded joints, and load path development.
