Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead and manage a team of Applied Scientists, including hiring, coaching, and raising the bar on rigor and speed.
  • •Own the squad’s roadmap and delivery—what gets built, in what order, and whether it ships.
  • •Set and execute technical direction with hands-on involvement in code, data, and approach selection.
  • •Define metrics to judge solution performance and validate solutions before they ship.
  • •Deliver algorithmic improvements for high-stakes, least-defined work and translate ambiguous goals into clear problem sets with partners across Research, Product, Engineering, and business stakeholders.

Key Requirements

  • •6+ years of industry experience as an Applied Scientist, Machine Learning Engineer, Research Scientist, or equivalent; or 4+ years with a relevant advanced degree (PhDs preferred).

  • •Strong judgment in selecting statistical models, heuristics, optimization approaches, or simpler algorithmic methods for the problem.
