Diagnose equipment issues by observing sounds, vibration, misalignment, and hydraulic problems, communicate clearly with sawyers and maintenance, and follow PPE, lockout/tagout, and machine guarding procedures.

Key Responsibilities

•Safely operate assigned sawmill production equipment and perform routine operator checks and housekeeping in the work area.
•Monitor material flow before, through, and after the machine to maintain steady production and reduce jams.
•Watch for equipment and product issues (poor cuts, misalignment, abnormal sounds/vibration, hydraulic problems) and identify trouble quickly.
•Make basic adjustments within authorized limits to support safe operation, production flow, and product quality.
•Follow safety responsibilities including PPE, machine guarding, lockout/tagout/energy-control, and immediately stop/report unsafe conditions or abnormal operation.
