Key Responsibilities

  • •Work within a team to process lumber from raw material to finished product.
  • •Run machines to produce components used in wood reels for packaging wire and cable.
  • •Make incremental process adjustments while monitoring and reporting product quality.
  • •Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area and perform duties assigned by a supervisor/manager.
  • •Follow Sonoco quality and safety policies and help other departments as needed.

Key Requirements

  • •1+ year of machine operating experience in an industrial environment.
  • •Knowledge of personal hand tools for safe operation, adjustment, and maintenance of production equipment.
  • •Ability to read and understand manufacturing instructions.
  • •Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • •Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and familiarity with 5S is helpful (not required).
