Key Responsibilities

  • •Adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures.
  • •Provide front-line and deep technical support for electrical failures, troubleshooting, and repair plan development to reduce downtime.
  • •Facilitate root cause analysis and defect elimination; recommend corrective actions including design changes.
  • •Maintain the 600V to 63kV electrical system and associated equipment, ensuring compliance with codes, regulations, and standards.
  • •Develop electrical asset management plans (5-year and 20-year) and manage PM update backlogs and design changes from approved failure actions.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline.
  • •Minimum 10 years of work experience in mining, smelting, refining, or similar heavy industrial facilities in an electrical engineering capacity.
  • •Eligible for registration or registered with EGBC as a condition of employment (Teck supports registration).
  • •Knowledge of reliability principles and methodologies; technical knowledge in motor protection relays, feeder protection relays, and transformer protection, including VFDs.
  • •Strong communication skills and effective interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
