Key Responsibilities

  • •Assist in start-up, shut-down, and normal operations of power plant systems.
  • •Operate major auxiliary apparatus such as air compressors, gas compressors, chillers, and cooling systems.
  • •Perform operating tests and inspections; make repairs and adjustments to achieve proper operating conditions.
  • •Prepare and oversee LOTO packages and maintain logs as assigned.
  • •Maintain plant instrument, electrical, and mechanical systems; monitor water chemistry and continuous emissions monitoring; report abnormal conditions and take corrective measures.

Key Requirements

  • •Two years of experience in Power Plant Operations and Maintenance.
  • •Experience operating and maintaining mechanical, electrical, and instrument systems.
  • •Ability to understand procedures and instructions for the assigned area, as would be acquired in four years of high school.
  • •Theoretical and practical knowledge of combustion/steam turbine operations, industrial safety, hazardous waste management, and inspection/recording of plant parameters (highly desirable).
  • •Must successfully complete a plant operator's knowledge examination.
