Key Responsibilities

  • •Proactively manage assigned complex property claims caseload, including understanding claims coverage and potential legal liability.
  • •Investigate claim damages by researching sources such as the insured, third parties, and external resources.
  • •Identify and resolve discrepancies; determine subrogation potential and create SIU referrals when appropriate.
  • •Analyze complex policy terms and contingencies to determine coverage, then negotiate and settle claims within authority limits (and recommend settlements outside authority).
  • •Maintain accurate, thorough claim file documentation and support workload surges/CAT response, including possible on-call and travel.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma or GED.
  • •2 years of relevant property claims adjusting experience writing estimates for dwelling and structural damages.
  • •Advanced knowledge of estimating losses using Xactimate or similar tools.
  • •Proficient knowledge of residential construction and property claims contracts, including interpretation of case law and state laws/regulations.
  • •Ability to travel 50-75% of the year (local & non-local) and/or support catastrophe duty when needed; acquire and maintain an insurance adjuster license within 90 days (3 attempts).
