Job Summary

Perform advanced mechanical and cosmetic repairs on customer and internal vehicles using CarMax’s Certified Quality Inspection Process and Retail Repair Process. Diagnose and repair brakes, steering, suspension, alignments, and HVAC systems; inspect vehicles to quality standards; and maintain a clean shop using 5S. Consult with customers, accurately complete repair orders, and manage parts inventory while following CarMax EH&S requirements.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform advanced mechanical repairs including engine performance, drivability, and electrical systems.
•Diagnose and repair brake systems, steering, suspension, complete 4-wheel alignments, and heating and air conditioning systems.
•Inspect vehicles to meet CarMax quality standards and maintain shop cleanliness per 5S principles.
•Consult with customers on repair needs and explain services performed to ensure clear communication.
•Review and close repair orders accurately and manage parts inventory, including receiving shipments and maintaining stocking levels.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 38.4 - 57.6 hourly

Key Requirements

•Maintain required ASE Certifications for steering and suspension (A4), brakes (A5), heating/air conditioning (A7), electrical (A6), engine repair (A1), manual drive train/axles (A3), engine performance (A8), and automatic transmission/transaxle (A2).
•Completion of New Associate Orientation Training and Operations and Kronos Training for hourly associates.
•Ability to read, interpret, and record data accurately.
•Capable of performing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
•Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work standing/walking for extended periods; flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
