Key Responsibilities

  • •Inspect welding, steel fabrication, coatings, expansion joints, bridge bearings, sign structures, bridge beams, drainage structures, and other structural components.
  • •Monitor fabrication/work for compliance with approved shop drawings, standards, and specifications.
  • •Communicate with owners, fabricators, engineers, and other CWIs and NDT technicians.
  • •Write daily shop/field reports in digital format.
  • •Participate in WSP safety meetings.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma or equivalent and 9+ years of relevant experience in structural steel/bridge inspections.
  • •AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) Certification.
  • •Experience performing QA/QC during structural steel fabrication.
  • •Ability to travel as needed (including overnight stays when out of town) and work in varied indoor/outdoor field conditions.
  • •Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office, plus strong verbal and written communication skills.
