Key Responsibilities

  • •Plan, organize, and direct design activities for the School Upgrade Program and critical repair projects, including quality review and coordination with the Division of State Architects (DSA).
  • •Manage and coordinate the District’s design process for Facilities Planning and Development to ensure plans meet functional, budgetary, environmental, and legal requirements.
  • •Manage multiple projects with architects, consultants, and District personnel from project conception through draft/final review, approval, and handoff to Project Execution.
  • •Oversee the building design process to ensure compliance with LAUSD standards and guidelines for educational and building standards requirements.
  • •Establish and run design firm selection and design review processes, manage design changes within budget, and support community relations and outreach.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 120,000 - 155,000 annually

Key Requirements

  • •Minimum 10 years of full-time paid professional experience managing facilities design or planning/coordination of capital projects, including overall design, contract administration, cost estimating, and scheduling.
  • •At least 5 years of experience in the design, planning, and construction of educational facilities or similar public agencies.
  • •Bachelor’s degree in architecture or engineering (preferred).
  • •Valid Certificate of Registration as an Architect (California State Architectural Board) or Professional Engineer (State Board for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors).
  • •DSA experience (preferred).
