Job Summary

Lead complex equipment automation projects for the pork industry by translating automation needs into engineered solutions. Develop preliminary designs and specifications, conduct feasibility and engineering economics studies, and prepare cost estimates, schedules, RFPs, and bid packages. Coordinate equipment vendor work, manage contract administration, and maintain detailed project documentation. Provide people leadership through coaching and development, while supporting installation execution and progress reporting to management.

Key Responsibilities

•Develop preliminary engineering designs and specifications, including feasibility, research, economic studies, and cost estimates; validate field work and produce as-built drawings.
•Coordinate equipment vendor work for layouts, utility requirements, and installation schedules; review consultant deliverables and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
•Perform engineering planning and operational reviews during pre-project studies; define scope, prepare and evaluate RFPs, and deliver progress reports to management.
•Manage contract administration by reviewing bid packages, preparing budget analyses and schedules, monitoring installations to meet specifications/budgets, and maintaining budget control.
•Provide people leadership through employee development and coaching.

Travel: Extensive travel

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 115,000 - 150,000 annually

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or related field) plus 5+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
•2+ years of experience in a leadership role, including team development and management.
•Strong project management and contract administration skills, including national codes and standards interpretation.
•Proficiency in engineering economics and applying engineering principles to operational/design issues.
•Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel/Word (Microsoft Office products).
