Key Responsibilities

  • •Operate and control an Asphalt Distributor/Tack Truck for applying liquid asphalt.
  • •Set spray bars on manual, automatic, or semi-automatic distributors for asphalt application.
  • •Perform minor servicing, greasing/oiling, and normal operating adjustments; refer major problems to the supervisor.
  • •Maintain knowledge of paving industry aspects including preparatory work, grades, drainage, paving patterns, aggregate size, specifications, oil consistencies, and compaction.
  • •Assist with related duties such as shovel work, setting string line, and adding/removing screed extensions as needed.

Key Requirements

  • •Current Class A Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with Tanker endorsement.
  • •HAZMAT endorsement and ability to meet Driver Qualification Standards in accordance with 49 CFR 383.91.
  • •1–2 years related experience and/or training (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • •High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • •Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screen, and comply with pre-employment physical, drug screen, and criminal background check.
