Job Summary

Civil & Structural Resident Engineer supporting the Energy Civil & Structural team with site visits and inspections of HV substations, assessing infrastructure against safety and design standards. Responsible for producing detailed reports, risk assessments and method statements, coordinating with designers, assessors, clients and contractors throughout the project lifecycle, and providing on-site guidance to less-experienced staff.

Key Responsibilities

•Site Visits and Site Inspections on behalf of the Energy Civil & Structural team
•Visual inspection of Civil & Structural infrastructure – primarily in HV Substations
•Preparing Risk Assessments & Method Statements, including liaison with other disciplines and site owner (e.g.: SAP)
•Accompanying others during Site Visits – e.g.: those less familiar with site
•Prepare detailed Site Visit Reports – including photography, descriptions, sketches, word document and excel reports

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Civil and/or Structural engineering
•Experience in electricity infrastructure (ideally NG Substations)
•Familiarity with construction sites (and, ideally, design)
•CSCS/EUSR (or equivalent)
•NG Persons (previously National Grid BESC)
