Job Summary

Curate and produce bespoke food and beverage activations for TED in San Diego, partnering with local institutions and vendors to create one-of-a-kind attendee experiences at the San Diego Convention Center. Own vendor relationships end to end—from concept development and contract negotiation to quality control, invoicing, and compliant execution—while maintaining accurate tracking in a management system. Ensure all communications align with TED’s brand and oversee the program onsite during load-in through load-out.

Key Responsibilities

•Design and execute unique food and beverage experiences, including securing and overseeing in-kind partners and vendors.
•Develop and bring to life creative food and beverage concepts for parties and events.
•Own the full vendor lifecycle: research and development, contract negotiation, quality control, change management, invoicing, and day-to-day communication.
•Ensure compliance with County of San Diego Department of Environmental Health and Quality requirements during planning and execution.
•Track and manage communications and data entry in a bespoke online management system, and oversee the program onsite during load-in through load-out.

Salary: USD 20,000 - 25,000

Key Requirements

•Degree or diploma in event management, hospitality, project management, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
•3+ years of event management experience with increasing responsibility and leadership.
•Extensive hands-on experience planning food and beverage for events across hotels, off-site venues, convention centers, and restaurants.
•California Food Handler Card or ServSafe certification is an asset.
•Strong verbal and written communication, with sharp analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
