Job Summary

Geotechnical engineer role supporting design, development, and construction of infrastructure in Anchorage. You’ll assist with site investigations, data collection, analysis, and documentation, contribute to subsurface evaluations, soil and rock mechanics, and help ensure safety and quality across civil projects including roads, buildings, tunnels, and bridges.

Key Responsibilities

•Assist with collecting, compiling, and analyzing data from site investigations, surveys, maps, and geotechnical data for project development, design, and construction.
•Maintain quality control standards and procedures for accurate and precise measurements.
•Assist with subsurface investigations, soil foundation engineering, settlement analysis, erosion, earth pressures, and slope stability for various infrastructure projects.
•Provide entry-level technical assistance on design requirements and safety for end-users and infrastructure.
•Generate documentation using electronic systems, drawings, and field notebooks while adhering to safety guidelines.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s Degree in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering, or closely related discipline.
•0 to 1 years of relevant post-education experience
•Excellent research skills with analytical mindset.
•Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience.
•Proficient self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.
