Key Responsibilities

  • •Operate, inspect, and monitor power plant equipment safely, efficiently, reliably, and environmentally.
  • •Recognize safety hazards and follow safety guidelines to protect people and the public.
  • •Interpret meter and gauge readings to troubleshoot equipment and resolve operational problems.
  • •Monitor and record operational data using instruments, charts, annunciator systems, and other monitoring devices into shift logs.
  • •Operate and monitor equipment outside the control room under direction of Lead or Control Room Operator; perform routine cleaning and checks.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma or GED.
  • •Three years’ experience in a power plant environment, oilfield, or equivalent education and industrial experience.
  • •Drive and commitment to complete the operator training program, including Control Room Operator qualifications.
  • •Valid state driver’s license.
  • •Ability to perform safety procedures including Tag Out/Lock Out per NRG Texas procedures.
