Job Summary

Contribute to the development of current and future LifeVest generations by collaborating with researchers, human factors, UX/UI, textile experts, marketing, and engineers. Create and communicate concepts through sketches, visual storytelling, and physical prototypes; support user testing and data analysis; and build 2D/3D renderings and design documentation. Interview users and stakeholders, present work for feedback, iterate designs based on findings, and partner with engineering and vendors to deliver prototypes.

Key Responsibilities

•Create and communicate design concepts through sketching, visual storytelling, and physical prototypes.
•Conduct user research by interviewing stakeholders/users and executing user testing activities.
•Support testing by creating protocols, running tests, creating reports, and analyzing data.
•Collaborate cross-functionally to develop drawings and 3D renderings, then present work for feedback and approval.
•Iterate and document designs based on user feedback, metrics/usability findings, and design critiques; partner with engineering and vendors to deliver prototypes.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 25 - 35 hourly

Key Requirements

•Currently enrolled in or have experience with an Industrial Design, Product Design, or other applicable Design program.
•Experience generating and quickly iterating on novel design ideas through sketching.
•Experience creating low- and mid-fidelity physical prototypes.
•Experience with a user-centered design methodology.
•Experience determining suitable materials and manufacturing methods for a concept.
